I have a portrait of John Hutton 1807-Sep 1868 and am seeking information about him. (He is no relation to my family and the only information I have is printed below.) On the back of the painting it says: "JOHN HUTTON OF ELIE, FIFESHIRE N.B. & MARK LANE, LONDON. BORN 1807 DIED SEP 1868. THIS PORTRAIT WAS PAINTED BY A MEMBER OF THE SOCIETY OF BRITISH ARTISTS AND EXHIBITED IN THEIR GALLERY ABOUT THE YEAR 1852."
