Goodwin Street was not where June described it. She is describing the Sitwell Tavern (OR Arms) which was on Lower Sitwell Strret / Back Sitwell Street. Goodwin Street was cleared in the late 50's early 60's in the West End slum clearance - many families were re-housed to the Beaufort Street area (Cowsley Estate) of Chaddesden. It ran behind the King Street Swimming Baths - in between Queen Street / Walker Lane and St Helens Street. It is roughly where the Derby Inner Ring Road runs today - perhaps a little further out towards the five lamps.
