Hi Ell Well finally sent for William's birth cert so hopefully that will answer a few questions. With some help finally worked out some of the info you sent. It looks like William's father was George Lawrence (fingers crossed cert will prove this) then posible that Sarah remarried in 1857 to James Lawrence explaining the difference in names bewtween the 2 census.
