My maternal grandfather was Richard Gwilliam. Born Cantlop Shropshire 24th Sept. 1867.His father , John , was a shepherd , born in Ratlinghope in 1823. He married Jane from Pontesbury. They had 12 surviving children.They had a son , John , born in 1855 in Longdon Shropshire. John went to serve in India 21stSept. 1879. My grandfather , Richard , became a teacher and went to Bodmin aged 19 to teach. In 1895 he married my grandmother , Mary Sperring Parker, in Chilcompton. If anyone has any more information , especially going back another generation , I would love to hear it. Ann Gardner
