I have just started to trace the ancestry of my 6x gt-grandmother, born Catherine BARHAM of Snape, Wadhurst. In 1721 she married William Waterhouse at Wadhurst. The same year, David Barham sold Snape, the family's ancestral home, from where the Barhams controlled most of the local iron industry. I presume David would have been Catherine's brother or father - can anyone help with any early Barham history; I'm well aware of the link with Reginald Fitzurse, one of the murderers of Thomas Becket.
