Hi Mandy My wife's GGG Grandmother was an English but they were from the West Newton and Bromfield area of Cumberland (now Cumbria). I have some details of her relations on my web site at http://tgf.athnic.com but none that are in County Durham. Have you tried the FreeBMD site for your husband's grandfather's birth?
