Warren R. Jones "Sam" Sr. Warren R. “Sam” Jones, Sr. Warren R. “Sam” Jones, Sr., age 70, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Center following a brief illness. He was born May 31, 1939 in Erie, son of the late John H. Jones and Mabel O. Taylor Jones Sutley. He had resided in the Erie area for most of his life. Sam had most recently been employed by Brevillier Village in the maintenance department until his retirement in 2000. Prior to that, he had previously been employed by Ideal Soap and Chemical Co., the sales department of the former G.A. Kayser and Sons, and also the Louis H. Marx Toy Co. Sam enjoyed woodworking, listening to music, and was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister, Nina Ross; and three brothers, Mack, John and Ralph Jones. Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Sandra L. DeGeorge Jones; four children, Marie A. Heslop (Kevin), Linda M. Scott (Brian) and Dennis A. Jones (Sandra R.) all of Harborcreek and Warren R. Jones, Jr. of Erie; 14 grandchildren, Michael, Angela, Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan, Heather, Rachael, Lauren, Domenick, Ashlyn, Andrew, Jacob, Kate and Joshua; a brother, Richard Jackson (Betty) of Lake City; a sister, Ruth Schultz (David) of Lakewood, N.Y.; In-laws, Janet, Marty, Joan, Thomas and Ena; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Friday at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. James R.C.
