Looking for info on my ggggg grandfather Samuel Mansfield b. abt 1740 in Connecticut d. bef July 2, 1787 when his son Joseph, who was born August 28, 1769 in Danbury, Connecticut petitioned the probate court of Danbury, Connecticut for a guardian. I believe my Samuel is part of the Mansfield family from New Haven, Connecticut. Joseph, born 1769, marries Chloe Knapp in 1790. This is were all my info starts. Would like to find out Samuels parents - his wife and if there are any other brothers and sisters to Joseph. I have the the book Descendants of Richard & Gillian Mansfield by H. Mansfield published in 1885 but my Samuel doesn't seem to match any Samuel in the book. Any help will be appreciated. Email me at Juteshouse@comcast.net
