my ggf came from Russia (still working on the town). His name was Samuel Oxman: born 1889 in Russia Manhattan resident immigrated to the US in 1909 father: Bennie Oxman mother: Rosie Oxman The story goes that a number of other family couldn't make it into the US and so they went to Uruguay to escape Russia.
