Bill, I responded to your posting earlier, but I still don't know if I have enough information about my grandmother to be the basis of research and I also don't know if the researchers are going to the right location. All I know is her name, Anastasia Bateiff (various spellings) from Vladikavkaz, north of Tiflis. She was born in 1897 and emigrated with a Shubin family group in 1905 to Canada and then the U.S.
