I am looking for links with any Hensmans or related families. Dates around 1800 and before I especially need to find a link with one John HENSMAN who was born in 1795 I am not sure where, but he came to live in PINCHBECK LINCS.
John married Mary and had several children, the eldest being George william bn 1840.
Family rumour says JOHN was borne at THORNEY but had relatives in Bedfordshire and Northants.

Hi Ian
The IGI shows a John Hensman married a Mary Alcock at Pinchbeck 31/7/1820. It also shows 5 children born, Mary Anne 1832, George William 1834, Lettice reuben 1836, Priscilla 1838 and another George William 1840.

worth checking

My husband Geoff Hensman was born in Harrow London
he has no idea where his father was born, only that he died in 1976.
We are just starting to try and find out, all we know is that his father was called Bernard and he had two brothers, Clifford and Aubrey, we are not sure if they are still alive.
Sorry this is probably not much help to you,
but you never know.
Sue.

Hi Breanne. I'm Caroline Hensman and I am 18 years old. I now live in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. I moved to American in 1989 with my father Andrew, my mother Marion, my brother Philip (22), and my brother Thomas (16). We have lived many places in the US. Such as Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and now Colorado. As of last year, I thought that we were the ONLY Hensman's of our family line to be living here in the United States or North America (including Canada). Well, we had only just immigrated to America in '89, so I was quite wrong. And I was told by my father that we didn't have any relatives in this part of the world. Well, he was also wrong. I found distant relatives of ours in West Virginia. Which was very exciting. Now, that I have heard from you I am also very excited. I don't know if Charles Hensman is related to my family, but I sure could find out. You see, back in the early 1600's, my family moved to England from German and back then our name was Henchman, not Hensman. Over the years it was changed, so that is why we could not be related. Andf also you say that Charles was from Buckinghamshire, well my family is from Bedfordshire. But I will do my best to find out. If you would like to contact me via email, my email address is: ahf_chick17@hotmail.com!! Bye for now...

Hi Jessica. I'm Caroline Hensman and I am 18 years old. I was born in Bedford, Bedfordshire, England. Me and my family moved to America in 1989 and have lived here every since. Currently my immediate family have spread around through-out the states, because my parents just divorced. Me and my mum Marion live in Fort Collins, Colorado...which is 30 miles north of Denver. My dad Andrew and my 16 year old brother Thomas live in Amarillo, Texas. And my 22 year old brother Philip lives in Chicago with his wife and daughter. I am a immediate relative of Huphrey Henchman, who was bishop of Salisbury Cathedral and St. Paul Cathedral in the early to mid 1600's. He was bishop of London when the great fire happened in 1666. Maybe that will give you or your parents an idea if we may be related. My family originally comes from Bedfordshire, obviously because I was born in Bedford and so was my dad's side of the family. I'm not sure if we're related, becuase my family name was changed back in the 1500's from Henchman to Hensman. Anyways, give me a holla back and we'll see. Talk soon!!
