Seeking information on the STUCHBURY/STUCHBERY family in Buckingham County, UK. Would like like information on ancestors of James STUCHBURY, m. Mary FRENCH, 1821. Have parents names as William STUCHBURY and wife Elizabeth. Parents of William were Thomas STUCHBURY/STUCHBERY and Ann DAGLEY. Any help will be appreciated. I have information on some descendants of this family.

My wife's maternal grandfather, William Stuchbury, was born in 1891 in the tiny village of Hillesden, Buckinghamshire. He was the youngest of seven children. Their parents were George Stuchbury (b1835) and Annie Grady from Banagher, County Offaly, Ireland.

We visited Hillesden this year and looked around the church yard of the former abbey and discovered many Stuchbury gravestones. The village even has many 'olde-worlde' pubs!

I am not saying 'my' Stuchbury's are related to yours (although they might just be) but I can tell you that Hillesden, and many other places in Buckinghamshire, was, and still is, full of Stuchbury's. You will be able to find details of many of them using the IGI Family Search web site (www.FamilySearch.org/Eng/Search/IGI).

Once you have found out where your relations lived you will be able to send for their census details from the local County Record Office.

Good luck in your searches!

Rita just found your reply from 2007, I would like info on Stuchbury's you have. The immigrant James Mathew Stuchbury who came to the USA in 1870 from Buckingham is my ancestor. But I am interested in his family there also.
