My Henry Jarmy, born abt 1815/1816, and married to Frances Baker, born 1813, had 4 children; Henry Oliver was born on the 26th of August 1838; Frederick Ferdinand, born on 2 Oct 1850; Mary C. born abt 1853; and Frank born abt 1857. Both Henry and Frances were born in England and married in London. In 1840 they came to live in Toronto, Quebec, Canada. I have found many variation the spelling of their surname; Jermy, Jarmy, Jarmey, Jarmiu, Jarnny - you may try these in your search for your William.

Hi, these posts are a bit old but seem relevant to my family and hope someone picks this up. The William from our line was a brother to my Great Grandfather Arthur and was indeed born in 1870. They also had siblings John, Alfred, Elizabeth, George and I am told recently Samuel, Ellen & Sarah Jane. There were supposed to have been around 13 children all up but some may have died young. The father was a John Jarmey and the mother was Ellen or Eleanor. The 1881 British Census states Ellen. John was reported in this Census as being born in 1834 and Ellen 1835. Their eldest son also John has descendants who I keep in contact with in New Zealand. Our line goes back to another John Jarmey born approx in 1796. They were all born in the Bath region. I would be interested in hearing more about this lost part of our family. Steve

We may have a connection here. William Jarmey fits as a brother to my Great Grandfather Arthur. They were residing in Portsea, England in 1881 and William was listed as being 11 years old at the time.
