many of my ancestors lived in isleham during the 1800's and I'd love to know more about them. The main surnames I am reseraching are:

Osborne (or Osbourne), Wells, Gammon, Taylor, Ashman Harvey and Cadman.

If anyone thinks they might be connected, please get in touch.

I have a Rebecca Osborn in my family tree. She was born in Isleham in 1867 or 8. She married James Ashman.

I have a little bit of information but not much.

Hi,

I have WELLS family in Isleham in my ancestry. My ancestor Mary (Mary Ann?) WELLS was born in Isleham in 1816, and her baptism appears in Aug 1813 on the General Baptist register for Isleham. Her parents were Richard WELLS and Mary NORMAN, married at Isleham 28 Oct 1803. Mary's siblings were William (1817), Jospeh (1819), Sarah (1822) and James (1829).

Mary marred Samuel HALL of Fenstanton at Chesteron, Cambridge on 19 Oct 1839 and they sailed fro Australia on the 'Boanerges' in 1857 with their three boys. Mary died near Yass NSW in 1860.

Any connection with your family?

Dear Karen

Ive just seen your note about researching Harveys from Isleham. My Harvey family came from Outwell which is on the border between Cambs and Norfolk. I know there are alot of Harveys around that area and its hard to link them together but I was just wondering how far youve gone back with your Harveys from that area? I have got stuck around 1780's but am thinking there is a possible link with the Harveys in the Isleham area.

thanks
Ian

Hello Karen,
My Harvey family line came from Isleham. I don't have much information about them but I do know that they had something to do with the market garden and possibly the lime kilms and brewery? If you have found any information I would love to hear your findings.

Regards,
Alistair
