I am trying to find my Great Grandfather Francis Goodwin. From 1881 he is on the census as living in and around Leicestershire where it also says he was born. I have not been able to find him in 1871. From his age listed on later censuses he was born c1858/59. There may be a chance that being aged 2/3 in 1861 he and his family may still be in Leicestershire.
I have his marriage certificate and it lists his father also called Francis as in the shoe trade
Any help would be appreciated

Hi there - I see a number of Francis Goodwins in the 1861 census but none with a father names Francis. Do you have names of his brothers or sisters - which might help?
