Interested in any WHITTLESEY Cabridgeshire (or adjoining) records for surname HILLAM/HILHAM/HILLUM or HILLIAM.
Have Geeology back to Peterborough in 1660 to present day.
Now more interested in back-ground information on them all.
Willing to share what I have already.
Also interested in same surnames from GLAPTHORN (Northants) HOLBEACH(Lincs) STAMFORD, where surname is often found but no connections yet to WHITTLESEY.
Whittlesey Museum has my printed Geneology called "The WHITTLESEY HILLIAMs"

I am searching for information on the Whittlesey Hilliams.

I am now living in canada but was born and brought up in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. My father was George Hilliam born in Whittlesey. His father was John Hilliam, mother Elizaberth Asheba Cole.

I would be grateful for any information you have.

To David Hilliam,
My Great Grandmother was Alice Ann Hilliam, her father was Samuel Hilliam, but this is where I come unstuck as his Father appears to be John Hillum and Mother Elizabeth (found in Parish Registers). I have been trying for ages to find the Hillums but do not seem to have any luck, in the 1841 census there is a Samuel living with John and Alice Hilliam aged 20 which is abt right, but the mother is not correct and I can find no earlier marriage of a John and Elizabeth, can you help me with this problem?
Celia

Hello Celia - David Hilliam here.
IF your grandmother Alice Ann Hilliam was born 31st August 1845 and married George TEMPLEMAN on 16th October 1866 and had a daughter SARAH born in EYE in 1874 then I have you in my own geneology. I can push our family tree (HILLIAM) back to Peterborogh around 1660.
E-mail me on winterpick@tiscali.co.uk
regards Dave.
PS the name was HILLAM/HILLUM/HILLIAM hence your problems
