Hi I am looking for any further info anyone may have on George and Elizabeth Jacques.George was born in 1816 in Wem Shropshire. Children Reuben, George,Annie,Jessie and Thomas. George and Elizabeth are on the 1881 census running a grocers shop in Stoke Nantwich.He was still listed as Master grocer on his 1890 death certificate.However i cant seem to find the full address of the property. On the census Stoke Cottage and Stoke Bank are listed at the top and bottom of the page so the property must have somewhere in between. I would love to know if the property is still standing and if there are any photographs of it.

Don't know if this will help you to identify where it was, but on the 1891 census, and doing an address search, these are the buildings which come up, when searching for Stoke, in Nantwich.

On the 1881 census, there are two grocery stores, (same as on this census) the other one was occupied by people named as Brimclow. On the 1891 census, the one numbered 3 was occupied by people named as Brimlow, so it looks as if your relatives had the one at number 30.

Hi I hadnt noticed there was another grocers in the village so thanks for pointing that out.I'm still none the wiser really as to the full address of the property.Neither the 1878 post office directory, the census returns or his death certificate give full deatils.I'll keep searching !Thanks again for your help.
