Cornwall's Illogan Parish Registers 1539 - 1845

I ordered the Illogan Parish Registers at the Sacramento LDS Regional Family History Center. I just received a notice that the film/fiche I ordered is permanently restricted so I won't be able to view the records.

Does anyone have a suggestion on where I might be able to view these registers? Apparently, these were transcribed by W. L. Bawden at some point.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there
Luckily the Bawden transcripts are held quite near to me in Cornwall. The periods covered are as followed:

Baptisms 1539-1858
Marriages 1601-1837
Burials 1540-1845

Although too far away for you to view yourself, I would be glad to do any look-ups for you if you let me know what you require.

I hope this is of some use.

Thank you so much for volunteering to help me out!

I'm in California and my very distant cousin and I are trying to find the parents of John Wallis (baptised May 1, 1791 in Illogan) and his brother, William (born between 1794-1801) also in Illogan. We'd love to have their baptismal record and marriage records. Perhaps these records would also identify their parents.

We believe they had siblings by the name of George and Thomas and also one sister named Elizabeth who married a Mr. Pope. We believe this Elizabeth is "Elizabeth Wallish" who married a James Pope. Records we have found in family trees have her parents as Richard Wallish and Elizabeth Tucker (Tocker). Are they possibly the parents of our John and William Wallis?

John Wallis married Elizabeth Kendall on 30 Sept 1822 in Illogan according to a distant relative in Australia. Can you find their marriage record? John and Elizabeth had several children in Puggis, Camborne, Cornwall and then immigrated to America in 1835 with his family. Elizabeth's parents were William Kendall (born Oct. 1761 in Illogan) and Jane "Jennifer" Craze born Dec 1767 in Illogan. It would be nice to verify this through the Illogan parish register. William Kendall married J. Craze on 27 Sept 1789 in Illogan.

Also, another branch of the family that I'd like researched is Thomas James, born 14 Apr 1802 in Illogan. He married Elizabeth Northy (or Northey). Can you find a marriage record in Illogan and provide a date? They immigrated to Wisconsin, USA before 1850. She was born about 1803 in Cornwall -- would her baptism/birth record be in the Illogan records? I'd be interested to know who their parents are as well. Thomas and Elizabeth Northy James had a daughter, Elisabeth Northy James, born 20 July 1829 in Truro, Cornwall...so I'm not sure if Thomas & Elizabeth moved about Cornwall and were married outside of Illogan.

Thank you again for offering to do some look ups for me!

William married Maria Willoughy and they are more difficult to find information on. We believe they were married and lived in Illogan parish for some time, immigrating to American well after John & Elizabeth immigrated.

Hi,
I noticed you offered to look up entries for Illogan, Cornwall. I was hoping you may agree to assist me too if possible please. I am looking for christening record of Simon Retallack who was born c18010 (depending on where you look). I am hoping to find his parents and anything that may add to his tree.
Thank you, Pat Draper (Australia)
