History of the Webb Clan begins with John Webb, Christened on April 15, 1840 in Maker, Cornwall, England. He was the son of John & Elizabeth Webb. He married Jane Barrett, christened on January 15, 1811 in Pelymt, Cornwall, England. She was the daughter of William & Grace Barrett. The 1851 census of St. Cleer, Cornwall, England show John Webb, his wife Jane, their children James, Elizabeth, and Mary, as well as a william Barrett II (probably Jane's brother) resideing at Hockings House. James was born Oct. 11th 1840 in St Cleer, Cornwall England, he married Ann Rowe, the daugher of William Rowe. James is my great grandfather who came to Mercy County Pennyslvania in 1869, Ann followed 1872 or 73. If you would like more information email me at psbartlett@blomand.net or write to me at Sarah L. We have to be cousins. You are probably from Uncle Harold and I am from Joseph N. Webb. I have a theory about John and Jane Barrett Webb. I am wondering if William Barrett could have been Jane's son. Due to the ages of John and Jane plus William being put down as a son-in-law. I have been told that they did that when the child was actually a son or daughter of the one party. It just seems odd that they started out in life at their ages to have a family. I feel that John was probably married before and our James and his two sisters are to his 2nd wife Jane. This is just something I feel, but have not been able to prove anything.
I sent you a message from here at my folks home in Knox, but was not sure if you received it OK. I have lots of things to go over with you and to send to you when I get back to Hays. Also found that James and Mary Ann had two other children born in St. Cleer, Cornwall, Eng. that are not mentioned in the bible. I figure they must have died before she and the others came over to Mercer Co., PA. I am excited about meeting up with you finally. Your mother sent me some information and I would like to run that by you also to make sure I have it correct. Am anxious to hear from you again. Betty

Buzza / Webb Families

My great grandmother, Lucy Webb, was born somewhere in England, on February 22, 1863. She married William John Buzza, who was born in Cornwall, on March 25, 1852. They were married December 24, 1878. He died April 3, 1926 and Lucy died December 9, 1932. They had the following children: Elizabeth, Charles, Minnie, Jane (who died in infancy), Jane (had two named Jane), William, Henry, Nettie and Arthur. I believe Lucy Webb's father's last name was Lobb (who may have been on the Titanic when it sunk). Elizabeth Buzza was my mother's mother. We also had close contact for years with Charles Buzza. We have living relatives in Cornwall that I am searching for.

Let me know if you are related to me / very important to my family, especially my mother - she has very little information but does have pictures which I would be happy to xerox and send to you.

My great-great-grandfather William Anthony Bowron married Elizabeth Jane Buzza, unsure of the exact year but in the 1870's. They're children were William Charles Watson, George Edwin, Lillian, Winnie, and Jeannie. The address I have of where my great-grandfather William Charles Watson was born is 16 Barnsdale Rd, England. Elizabeth died in 1890. Unsure if this is any help to you or not.

Am in Knox, PA and will send you an e-mail. Have reason to believe that my James Webb may have had other siblings older than he. Betty Macdonald

My ggrandmother, Mary (?) Buzza was from England. We have more information on her brother, Richard E. Buzza, who was born in Cornwall, England on January 7,1857, in a little town called Chasewater, with Redruth two and a half miles on one end and Truro two and a half miles on the other end. His mother's maiden name was Sauyes.

He, his brother, Alfred, and sister Mary traveled to America on the "City of London" in 1866, taking fourteen days from Liverpool to Sante Oak (in America?). His father came on the same ship the year before, in 1865.

At age 20, he married Matilda Seymour, also English, on December 25 1879.

Ggrandmother Buzza married John Julius Weis--later changed to Weiss. He was born in St. Ingbert Bavaria, Germany ini 1854. After the passing of JJ Weis(s), at age 70, my ggrandmother married a Mr. Granis.

If you have any information, I would like to hear from you.
