Hi Raymond
You seem to have an interesting tree. A Matthew Hewetson was bapt in Dec 1800 at Alston, son of Thomas Hewitson & Isabella Hornsby, he appears to have married Hannah Vickers on 27/12/1820. They then had a son Matthew bapt 8/2/1824 at Alston who also had a son bapt Matthew on 16/7/1854, mothers name Mary , but no marriage.
A suitable candidate for Mary Rumney would be the Mary bapt 16/11/1835 to William Rumney & Hahhan White who married in Alston on 11/6/1835. It appears that Mary then went on to marry George Johnston in Alson on 17/5/1857.

So Mary R could be the mother of Matthew the III!!!

Worth investigating

Regards

David Taylor

hi, just stumbled across your posting, and wonder if you are connected to mary ann rumney, from the yorkshire area of england, ?
all i know about her, is that she was in her 30's in 1959 ( i think ).
anyway, i was born in bristol in that year, but i was brought up in a childrens home, i never knew her, there is no fathers name on my birth cert, so, i don't know much about her.

G'day John,

I can't assist, as the Rumney family name hasn't been passed down in my family tree (other than William Rumney Johnston)...

However, you are posting in the right place, as other people researching the Rumneys have assisted me in the past.

Andy
