WILMOT family history research leads me to Cumbria, specifically Roger Ground,Hawkshead and Coniston. Would like to learn more about the area, and share information with other WILMOT researchers.

I have recently learned from my newly discovered, wonderful cousin Jim Luckey ( Iowa) that I am a descendant of James Luckey and Nancy Speed Luckey.
My Great Grandfather was Warren Henry Luckey, son of Willian Luckey and Elizabeth Leasure. My Great Grandmother was Laura Clay Wilmot Luckey.
Any information you have on this side of my family would be so appreciated. Thank you!

None of those names appear in my WILMOT files. Are they from Cumbria? What time period? Do you have any other WILMOT names?

Hello Helen, I have done some more research and have discovered that my greatgrandmother, Laura Clay Wilmot Luckey, was born January 21, 1857 in Pendleton, Kentucky. She married my Ggrandfather - Warren Henry Luckey born Dec. 28, 1846 in Greene, Missouri on Dec, 12, 1873 in Eugene, Oregon.
Laura Clay Wilmot is a descendant of Peter Kissinger. From what I can see the Kissinger's started out in Virginia.

Hi, Laura Clay Luckey was my gg aunt. She was related to Rachel Kissinger who married William Wimot. They are the parents of Laura. I would love to hear from you!

Hello! I too am related to William Wilmot, Laura Clay's father. My gg grandfather was John Bruce Wilmot, Laura's brother. I am the granddaughter of Cecil Wilson Wilmot. I have some pictures of several Luckey's because they were close to my family in the 50s. I would love to hear from any of you.

I have been researching the death of Willie Wilmot--he died in Kentucky on a trip home (I guess).

Any help and pictures would be much appreciated!

We have traced the Weathermans but have had no luck on
the Luckey side. Orville Luckey my grandfather is as far back
as we have got. Any help would be great.
