Ggrandfather John Ferraby ran a grocery store in Barrow in Furness in the late 1800's. He died 1936 and was buried in Barrow. His wife Florence died Feb. 13, 1937 and was also buried in Barrow. A son Walter died abt. 1907. One daugh. Constance married William Forrester and lived in Penrith. Will was a contractor, as was his father before him. Their first son b. abt. 1909. Another daugh. married Ted Corkhill or Corkill (a widower) and lived in Douglass,IOM. First child, Mona, b.1909. Any links or information on any of these is appreciated, but would particularly like to hear from someone who may have seen the graves of John Ferraby and could provide dates. Thank you.

On your information do you have the name of Rachael Forrester from London? I am researching the Prowell family and in a Joseph Prowell's will is mentioned god daughter Rachel Forrester of London.Joseph dealt with the Latham Family in the Wine business.This would be in the very early 1800's.Like 1803 or 1804.

My grandfather was William Sutherland. He married Lilian Ada Ferraby in 1910. Lilian Ada was one of Constance's sisters. I have an electronic version of a photo of Will Forrester with John Henry Ferraby (Connie's father) if you are interested.

My Uncle said that Will Forrester was the cinema manager in Penrith. I would be interested in hearing from you.

My father and grandfather's names were both william forrester but they were from Ireland
have no details atall about tham as my father was placed with family (fostered) when he was baby

i am currently looking 4 my grandfather HIRAM JAMES FORRESTER, all i know is he came from wales, was in the forces stationed in or around hertfordshire england, around 1943/1944, i think he was already married then, with 2 children, but cant be sure, any help would be appreciated.

My father is Mona corkhills brother ( I think) he was born November29th 1918.
I would love to know if Mona has children that I can contact. My father did not get on with his sister so he has no information as to who she married and where she is. Can you help? He thinks she married someone called Greeves but he is not sure.

Hi Sarah, Mona and your father must be my father's first cousins. I'm afraid I can't shed any light on Mona but would be interested in your antecedent Captain Ted. I'd always thought that the family remained on the Isle of Man and hadn't realised they may be buried in Barrow. I am in touch with other cousins via the Ferraby side.
