I am trying to locate my ancestor William Wales who was born in Cockermouth around 1800. William was set to New South Wales, Australia as a convict on the Neptune in 1820 after being convicted of stealing chickens in Newcastle (7 years for seven chickens..expensive chickens). I understand his parents to be William and Margaret Wales.
