I am looking for any information on William Anthony b.1826 in Ripley, Derbyshire. He married Eliza from Sheerness but i cannot find her maiden name. It is likely that she had travelled with her family on the canals from Sheerness to derby. William and Eliza had five children living at home in 1881. His daughter Esther married Isaac knowles; They were my great great granparents. Any links greatfully received.

This may not take you any further forward but I found your William Anthony in the 1871 census of Codnor Loscoe at RG10, Piece 3476, Folio 51, Page 45. I have the image (pdf 440Kb) if you are interested.

Hi,Issac and Esther were my grandparents,My father was the youngestborn in 1910 his name was Sidney Israel he died in 1989.I know a little but I think you are right about the canals as Esther lived in codnor before marrying Issac They had a large family,I know the family stayed around pinxton{Where I was Born,My Aunty Beatrice married Mr Salmon.etc I live in Swanwick,and still have brother living in Pinxton.

Hello again, Cheryl is my mum and Betty is my mums mum who unfortunately died in 2004. I am Sara and both me and my mum are living in cornwall now. My uncle mick lives in South Normanton still, and Elaine and her mum Ilyd who was Geralds wife live in Ripley. The other brother was Wilfred.
