I would also say that the brother Leslie your mother mentioned could be Samuel Leslie Winson b: abt: 1909 that I also provided info about on my last post. You said that Leslie died abt: 1990 I did find a death in derbyshire for Samuel Leslie WINSON died 1989. Not uncommon to use middle name. As for the Mary as mother people sometimes get it wrong...but he could have married twice. See below...
Looks like Wilfred Lewis WINSON, George's brother migrated to Canada in 1915. Found record on Findmypast.

After checking the Library & Archives of Canada it appears that Wilfred aged 18 at time arrived as one of the Home Children. His WW1 Attestment papers are also there and viewable. Just search WINSON Wilfred at site below.

Derbyshire and that his next of kin was Harry WINSON (father)address:McDonaldville, Alta he was a farmer.
This could be starting to fit together. What if Esther & Henry Winson with all their children migrated to Canada in 1910 (see previous post) but Esther and children came back to
England and where living with Esther's parents on 1911 Census. Henry stayed in Canada.
Also found at the Library & Archives of Canada which would possible fit this scenario
