John
Prince (jnr.) was born c. 20th July 1800 in Belper,
Derby, the son of John
Prince (snr.) and Elizabeth
Prince (nee
Allsop). He worked as a canal boatman and labourer. He married a widow, Elizabeth
Harrison (nee
Kennyon) on the 3rd May, 1820 in Crich
Derby. They had nine children - Mary (b. 1820), Samuel Skeynor (b. 1824), Elizabeth (b. 1826), Ann (b. 1828), Maria (b. 1833), James (b. 1833),
Harriot (b. 1835),
Hannah (b.1837) and John (b. 1839) - all born in Crich,
Derby.
Samuel Skeynor
Prince was christened in Crich,
Derby on the 28th March, 1824. He was the son of John and Elizabeth
Prince (nee Ken(n)yon). Samuel worked as a canal boatman and later as a quarry-man. He married Elizabeth
Howe on the 26th January, 1846 in Crich, and they had seven children - William (b. 1846), Mary (b. 1848), Samuel (b. 1850), John (b. 1852), Elizabeth (b. 1854),
Hannah (b. 1858) and Sarah Ann who was born on the 29th February, 1860.
Elizabeth
Prince (nee
Howe) was born c. 1827 in
England. Her father was William
Howe who worked as a framework knitter (manufacturer of hoisery). She married Samuel Skeynor
Prince on the 26th January, 1846 in Crich, County of
Derby,
England and they had seven children.
WESTON FAMILY
John
Weston (sen.) was born in
London,
England, c. 1820. He married Caroline (nee ?) and they had a son, John
Weston, in 1842.
John
Weston (jun.) was born in
London in 1842 to John and Caroline
Weston. He was baptised on the 26th September, 1842 at St Leonards in Shoreditch. He worked as a Civil Engineer and married Elizabeth
Fuller. They had a son, Robert
Weston.
Robert
Weston was born in
London,
England on the 5th September, 1865, the son of John and Elizabeth
Weston (nee
Fuller). He was christened on the 24th September, 1865 at St Leonards Anglican church in Shoreditch,
London. He married Sarah Ann
Prince on November 9th, 1890 in All Saints Church, Haggerston Road,
London. Robert was one of the first Electrical Engineers in
England and installed electric lighting in
Royal Albert
Hall. He died in
England in January 1947, aged 82.
Sarah Ann
Weston (nee
Prince) was born on the 5th March, 1860 to Samuel and Elizabeth
Prince (nee
Howe) in Belper, in the County of
Derby,
England at ‘Lea Hurst’ the estate of Florence
Nightingale, who held her in her arms shortly after birth. She was christened in Crich,
Derby on the 29th April, 1860. Her occupation was Head house-maid when she married Robert
Weston on the 9th November 1890. They had four surviving children - Mable, Stanley, Arthur and Evelyn Elizabeth Mary. Sarah died on the 8th June, 1939 in
England, aged 79 years.
