I am looking for the parish details of the baptism of Eliza Jane BINDON in East Stonehouse, Devon in 1854, parents James and Catherine or Caroline. By 1871 Eliza and her family were in Fowey, Cornwall. Also any information on her parents and siblings would be wonderful as I have little information about them.

James BINDON was baptised at St. Giles, Old Cleeve, Somerset, 21 Jan 1821, son of Thomas & Mary.

Many thanks for your reply and details of the family in the 1861 Census before they moved to Fowey. The surname is spelt slightly differently and in 1871 the mother is Caroline but this must be the right family.

Many thanks for your very informative reply giving me so much information on the parents of Eliza Jane BINDON. I am pleased that I have recorded the surname as BINDON which was how James was baptised as the family surname spelling seems to have changed with every event over the years.

mike its usually down to the accent and how the registrar wrote how they spoke
