The 1851 census transcription is not very accurate :-)

John SANDBURY Son - 4 M --- Exeter-DEV

A John SAINSBURY married Harriett BRYANT in the Bristol regn. district, September qtr 1841 vol 11 page 160. If you obtain the marriage certificate, it will confirm both of their fathers' names.

Thanks you so much,
Do you think i should look at Sandbury for the 1841 census or will the spelling error be a one off?
Harriets maiden name was supposed to be Thorne, but on of her sons mentions Bryant on his death cert
Thanks Again Rebecca

You need to obtain the birth cert. of one of the children to confirm Harriett's maiden name. You also need to view the original film of the 1851 census to confirm the surname. I suspect it is just a poor trabscription die to bad handwriting - Vitualler is recorded as Cictualler; Doddiscombe is recorded as Daddiscombe.

thanks for that, i have tried looking for their birth certs, I starting looking for another childs henrietta's first thinking it wasnt that common a name, with no luck.
I ordered one for another son Henry but that was wrong too,
In England is their any sort of parent search? to ensure your ordering the right one?

You can specify parents, but will still be charged £3 (I believe) if it's not your match, to pay for the search.
