Hello all,

Surnames: WARREN OF BRIDPORT AREA
Hi! Just happened to come across this site and realized that
I have relatives named Warren in the Bridport area, and
Wakley in the Stoke Abbott area. Both towns are close to
Broadwindsor. My parents lived at Lewsdon Farm, Stoke abbott
until 1965 when they immigranted to Canada. My Great Great Grandfather was Walter Warren. His wife was Frances Mary Green. Thier children were: Annie, Marion, Susie, Kate, Jane, Minnie, Walter, Jack, Andrew, Mary, and James Charles (b. 22 Oct, 1881 d. in 1942). James Warren married Freda Ann Wheaton (b. nov 30, 1882, d. 1944). Thier children were: Marjorie, John, Walt, Doris, and Cicely Mary (b.Oct 27, 1909, d.Aug 19,1983). Cicely married William Slade (B.Feb 10, 1905, d. Feb 21,1990), thier children were Vivienne and Muriel (b.Dec. 9, 1930). This is my mother. She married my father Wilfrid Marsh. Thier children are Marion (b. Jan 2, 1953)James (b. May 10, 1956) and myself Sherlie (b. Feb 13, 1954). I don't know if this connects up with any of your family tree, but it would be interesting if it did because some of my mum cousins children now live in Australia, a country I visited for 3 weeks and loved very much!!

Hi,

I have just come across your piece while searching for information about my ancestor. He was Henry Smith (c1792)born in Marshwood Dorset. I have struggled for many weeks to find out who his parents were although I know he married his cousin Sarah Smith and would therefore have an uncle William Smith (c1769. The family lived in and around the area between Marshwood Burton Bradstock and Misterton in Somerset before my great Grandfather moved to Norfolk. Do you have any information on these Smiths which might be helpful?

Many thanks, Sue
