Something not quite right here - Sarah bc 1769 would been about 53 years old - althought not impossible - highly unlikely ???

It is possible for these reasons, if this date is correct:

Sarah's parents Richard & Mary married in Essex on 22 Sept 1768. Benjamin is probably the youngest of a large family. The name of only one sibling is known, Maria, but with no other details. Others have looked and found nothing on his siblings but I keep looking to fill every gap and to break down every brick wall I have, always with different degrees of success.

I think you are right, a bit too old but that birth does fit in with the marriage if Sarah was the first born. I'd go with her age in that census I think. That 1853 death reg I listed may not be Sarah's because I think only Benjamin came to Australia. So Sarah died 1858 or 1859 and spouse Benjamin in 1870, I presume in Essex.

Shoemaker and sibling Maria and Great Oakley are all correct so that is the right family. No one as yet has been able to find the marriage between Benjamin and Sarah SAVAGE.

Son Benjamin does not appear because he sailed on the 4 June 1841 on the ‘William Turner’ to Australia. I can't explain that 1853 death reg in NSW for a Sarah aged 84.

Thank you for some great work. That death record seems to throw the 1870 date out the window. Benjamin Jr died 1890 and he had a son Benjamin who died in NSW in 1877 but there is no other Benjamin who could have died in 1870. Mmmm.
