Elizabeth Perry d. of Mary - aged 25 as given in the 1851 census - was born in Chippenham WIL.

If you go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatch... and search the first Chippenham batch given you will find Elizabeth Perry bap. 30 Nov, 1823 parents William and Mary. I'm not saying that's her but there's every possibility it is - extracted data are very reliable regarding extraction accuracy in the main.

You'll find the hugh Wallis site useful and it might be an idea to get the free programme Parloc (parish locator) from http://parloc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/parlocdl.html it too is very useful.

There is no sign of Benjamin, John or Eliza anywhere that I can find and although John was said to be born in Nailsworth, the LDS have not extracted the data from its parish records so another film needs searching!

I spent a fair time looking but could not find any of the family for certain in the 1841 census.

Regards

Geoff

Thanks Geoff for the new information...parish locator, I wasn't familiar with that site. I have also tried to scour the LDS site and came up the same way, to where the file isn't opened yet. Thank you for your continue support in locating my Perrys, you are extremely helpful and I really appreciate it.
Thanks again Janice

This is an old post, but hope you see it. Judging from this and another post, you know Kingswood place names well. Do you know the location of a mill call Sherry (at least that is what the word looks like) in Kingswood? Thomas Perry of Wotton under Edge bequeaths in his 1638 will. Later generations of Perrys styled themselves 'of Kingswood'. Did this Perry family die out? I lose tract of them after Robert Perry, gent. of Kingswood, living 1711.

I suggest you have a look at an old map at http://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.htm

Do not forget there are two Kingswoods - I think the second GLS one is the one you need.

Good hunting.
