Someone mentioned that perhaps there was a name change when he moved to London. So perhaps that's a possiblity.

I am well aware of and familiar with Wottunundridge - as my grandmother who was born 1881 in an isolated cottage not far down the road from it called it - and if something is in the IGI it may not mean a lot because many entries are fairytales.

If you want to see W-U-E parish registers (The BT's are awful to read!), go to Gloster (pronunciationwise) R.O.: search an LDS film as I did or wait until the LDS has finished digitising the film and put it on the net; but as they have millions of films . . . .

I am at a loss to see where the Yorkshire connection comes from? the Member "Ovener" stated this in his /Her Reply/Post previously, I dont Know why it was stated at all, However Yorkshire is hundreds of miles away from W.U.E. !!
