I am searching for information about an Augustus Tiver. He was born in Riverton, South Australia but it can be assumed that his parents were born in the UK.

I have been unable to find information about his parents, but it seems a possibility that James Llewellyn Tiver could have been his father. James Llewellyn was born on 11 Aug 1829 in
Bristol, Gloucestershire, England; resided in Monmouthshire, Wales in 1851, and emigrated to South Australia by 1858.

Augustus Tiver was born in 1858. I can't find any definitive piece of information to tie the two together, though Riverton (where Augustus was born) and James' residence (Burra) are close by. I guess there is a chance James was Augustus' uncle, if not his father.

If anybody has information about Augustus and/or his parents, it would be much appreciated.

Surely you should be researching in Australia if you wish to link the two? There's no way that UK records can give a link. Is there a b-cert for Augustus in Oz?

The date you have for James's christening was found in the IGI and it's a submitted entry so cannot be trusted.

I think you should Google for RootsChat, join the Gloucestershire forum and ask some questions there.

At the residence of the bride's father, Redruth, by licence, th the Rev. W. Jenkins, on Sept 27th, Augustus, eldest son of Mr.Charles Tiver, to Mary Ann, elsest daughter of Mr. Edward Prior, both of Redruth.

I can find no record of an Augustus Tiver being born in Riverton SA.
