I think Kate was born in 1891 in Ledbury, Glos. I believe it is this Kate who married my husband's grandfather after his first wife died in 1913.

Struggling to find any information - can anyone help please?
They had two children, Arthur Ernest Reay 1926 and Leslie Reay in 1924. Sadly both seem to have died and their spouses.

Every researcher will find Parloc - a free parish locator prog useful - get it from http://www.parloc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/parlocdl.html

Parloc shows that Ledbury was in Herefordshire and using freebmd - http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl - you will find a Kate (aka Margaret Kate?) birth registration.

Perhaps further searches in HEF will solve all.

Have you a copy of the childrens birth certs confirming the mothers maiden name? was the lady married before?

Yes I have the birth certificates which state Mother: Kate Reay formerly Colley. Have not been able to establish whether she was married before linking up with Frederick Francis Reay, neither can I find a marriage certificate for this relationship with FF. He was married before and after Kate, and I have the evidence of that.
