Hello,
I have links to Thomas
Taylor who had a
Boxing Booth which went around the various fairs of the
UK at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
Thomas seems to have been born in Liverpool though at one point he lived in
Newport in Gwent and
Cheltenham. He was originally married to Rachel Selina Jane
Davies of
Hereford and died in December 1945 in
Hereford where he is buried. His mother was Sarah
Taylor. Tom also had a scrap metal business in
Cheltenham.
I believe that a few famous boxers of the period fought at Tom's booth and I also believe that he was linked in some way to Ronnie Taylor's boxing booths though how exactly I cannot fathom at this stage.
Does any of this strike a chord with anyone?
Thanks
Dan
