I have traced my heritage back to Peter Culver (1785-Nov.11 1880) and his wife Sarah who immigrated to southern Ontario, Canada in 1816. The family believes tha Peter and a brother came from Penn. but so far my efforts have been stumped when I try to find my American cousins.

Doug The only Culvers I have that settled in Ontario are Jabez Culver (John4, John3,John2,Edward1) His brother John is my line. Jabz b. 19 June 1731 died 29 Dec.1818. He lived in N.J. after moving from Conn. He was a minister. Jabez and Anna Culver had children (13) and those that remained in Canada were Ebenezer, Jabez, and Freelove (m.Michael Shaef) I have looked in a book by Valerie Dyer Giorgi and I don't find a Peter in Penn or Canada. That does not mean that they are not there, it just means that they did not make the book. Some of my family did not. I will bookmark and if I find anymore , I will let you know. Do you have an Edward, Joseph or John in your family who were brothers. Edward was born about 1600 and was not the oldest. I think that John was and that Joseph moved to Ireland. If you can place Edward in your family, then you have MANY American cousins, we just won;t know which ones are the closest yet. Jeanne Culver Thorpe

Hi Margaret,

This is probably a long shot but I have a distant relative
John Culver who was from Walkern, Hertfordshire who lived there from 1796 -1871. He had a son that emmigrated to Canada but his name was Charles. Charles had a brother named Edwin that may have also emmigrated. Perhaps that is your Edward?
