Have one or two Baylis names in my family tree. Allan Baylis for example born 1841 in Brockhampton in Hereford. His father was Timothy Baylis.
Also got a few Meyrick names in Hereford. Could this be a corruption of your Merricks? E.g. Isabella Meyrick was born in 1836 in Presteigne. I have a Thomas Meyrick born in 1760.

I am tracing Aspreys from Stanford Bishop, Hereforshire, and Baylis from Ledbury. The Aspreys intermarried with the Perkins family.

Surnames: Davies Evans Higgins Bissell.
Hi Kieth,
I am trying to locate the Davies side of the family who lived- and some still live in Ross. I am connected through my grandmother Rose. It is rather a long story but involves my g.mother having an illigitamate daughter and then running away with an older married man, my grandfather. the people i am now interested in are Joshua and Elizebeth Davies.
Josua was born in Ledbury and was a taylor by trade.
I wonder if you Ross-on-Wye, and Hereford personaly or are you just making enquiries for family yourself in that area?
I am trying ti pin down the house that they lived in which was called "Tudorville". I know that there was a pup at the top of the street that had an original skittle alley, at least the pub was still there in 1979, but I have not been back there since.
Hope you can help me, Pauline Lynee.

Kevin, I am searching for a small Merrick link maybe you can help. I have Mr. Palmer marrying Ms. Merrick and having one child that I am aware of Sarah Palmer who married William Verry and then married James Bond. I am trying to located first names of Mr. Palmer and Ms. Merrick and located their history. Sarah states on a census that she was born in Pencoyd. Family lore says that Ms. Merrick was heir to the Bollitree Castle. I am not sure how true that is, but it is fun anyway. Let me know if you discover that you know something about this family.

Regards,
Heather Nelsn
