Dear Mike
Marriage of Richard Bland of Thrapston(occupation = glover)+ Sarah English 21 sept 1721, Hitchin St Marys
Edward chr 24 mar 1724, buried 27 jul 1727
Sarah chr 20 jul 1726, buried 29 jan 1728
Edward chr 18 may 1729
Mary chr 24 mar 1733
Ann chr 21 jan 1735
Henry chr 14 sept 1737
James born 8 dec 1738, chr 17 dec, buried 18 apr 1739
burial of Jemima Bland, dau of Richard (glover) and Sarah, 14 july 1740 - I couldn't see her christening, but as previous posting, the films are not always that easy to decipher.
Also burial of Sarah Bland, widow, 22 oct 1736, but this can't be the wife of Richard, as there were at least 2 children christened after that date. I wonder if this was Richard's mother?
Edward Bland (occupation breeches maker) + Sarah Swain, 18 sep 1765
Couldn't see any chr in Hitchin for children of Edward and Sarah (looked up to 1775)
Ann Bland + John Wye, 21 oct 1764. One of the witnesses was Richard Bland
Again, couldn't see any chr in Hitchin for offspring.
There's also a marriage for Richard Bland (occupation glover) + Elizabeth Swain, 7 jun 1752.
Following christenings for children of Richard + Elizabeth
Sarah, born 4 dec 1753, chr 23 dec
Edward, born 16 feb 1756, chr 14 mar
Henry, chr 27 jan 1765
Ann chr 15 oct 1769
Sarah Bland, wid, buried 14 oct 1781
I wonder if the 2nd Richard was the 1st son of Richard and Sarah - couldn't see his chr in Hitchin, but occupation is the same and the children have names of 'siblings'
Once again, time ran out - but I hope this helps fill in some of the gaps.
Ives family next time.
Best wishes
Christine
