Dear Christine,
I have been away for a few days and just found your wonderful message upon my return. Many thanks for all the hard work that you must have put in to discover the information. You have found two 'new' children for William & Rose as well as marriages and deaths for some of the others. I found the 1841 & 1851 Census entries for William SHARP but I could not find any Census entries for John IVES although you say he was recorded from 1841 to 1891. Can you kindly give me some references so that I can track them down.
Best wishes,
Mike Horton

Dear Christine,
Many thanks for the Census information, did you find John IVES and family in 1841. The Alfred IVES marriage is a real puzzle and I have no explanation for it. From the information that you kindly gave me I think I have found quite a few births, marriages and deaths on Free BMD and the IGI, I would never have done this without your help. I did carefully check the BLAND, WRENCH and IVES information that you sent and updated a lot of the families. I am having trouble finding most of them in a Census and so if you have a moment and can check some of them out although they may have died before 1841. In any event I am most grateful for all of your help.
Best wishes,
Mike Horton

Good morning Mike

I'll have another look through census returns and I'll see if I can find some more information at Hertford CRO, although I won't be able to go this week.

I wonder if the Bland family moved to Bedfordshire - Hitchin close to county boundary - just a thought.

Best wishes
Christine

Good afternoon Mike

I went to Hertford CRO yesterday evening - but found no more information on the Ives family in the Great Munden records. It's possible that the girls went into service in one of the surrounding villages and married there (eg Denney)
I take it you have the marriage of David Ives to Elizabeth Maskell in 1843. (from bmd on ancestry)

Happy to help when/if I can.

Christine

Dear Christine,
Many thanks for having a second ( or third ? ) look for my IVES family. I do have a brief note that David IVES may have married Elizabeth MASKELL but I have no details and so I could not confirm that this was mine. Have you the details of the marriage ?
Best wishes,
Mike Horton

Good morning Mike

I couldn't see the marriage of David Ives in Great Munden or Little Munden, so I shall have to keep hunting for that one.

I did find Esther Ives and William Hilton at Grt Munden, 19 jun 1848. Her father William (deceased), his father John (also deceased)
