Hello I am looking for Walter Frederick born 1904 Charlotte born 1906 and Violet Ethel born 1908 in the Al Walton , Stilton areas. I have all their birth certificates but I know nothing of their lives, ie; when they grew up and if they ever got married and had children. Their parents names were Walter Griffin born 1879 in Wisbech (I think) and Jane Hannah formerly Rudkin born Newcastle 1889. If anyone has any info on these children or what happened to their father I would love to hear from you. I know all the history on their mother, she was my grandmother and she brought me up.

John Youle Married a Susan/Susanna/Susannah ???

Dear all,

John Youle (later Youles) 1815-1899 (born Caponford/Coppingford, Cambs) living in Warboys, St Ives Huntingdonshire married a Susan/Susanna/Susannah ??? 1819-1907 (born in Dry Drayton, Cambs) sometime betwen 1841 and 1851 and they had a son Samuel Youle(s) 1845-1909. Although the 1851 Census lists them as married (then ages 36 and 32 respectively) I am unable to find records of their marriage, or any record for the birth of Samuel? There is a record for the birth of a Samuel Youle in 1847, but this is from a separate branch of the name who were located in Thorne, Lincs. I am also able to find records for a Joseph and James Youle who were also living in Warboys, St Ives Huntingdonshire at this time, but have NO evidence for any connection between the two families.

I would really like to trace things back further, but without birth or marriage records I do not see how this is going to be possible? Any assistance anyone could provide would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Mark Youles

Pincque family from Dry Drayton, Cambs (abt 1819)???

Dear all,

Does anybody have any infomation about the Pincque family who were in (or around) Dry Drayton, Cambs abt 1819??? Census records indicate the birth of a Susannah Pincque in Dry Drayton, but I can not find any other evidence of other family members from around this time??? A Sarah Pincque (who I suspect is Susannah's sister) shows up in the marriage records of St. Ives, Cambs/Hunts in (1840) and some later suspected family members again show up in the 1901 Census. But apart from these, I have can find no other records of the family's existance???

Considering the unusual name I thought the family might be quite easy to trace, but unfortunately I appear to have been wrong. Consequently if snybody can provide me with any further information about this family it would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Mark (Youles)

I am researching Garfield ancestors in Huntingdon and Northampton counties in the 1700's and have found many records for Barfield as well as Garfield. So far I have never found both Barfields and Garfields in the same parish at the same time. Is it at all likely that they are the same family name, the B for a G?

According to the 1841 oe 1851 Census, my ancestor was born in Cundell or Oundell, Huntingdonshire. The handwriting is very clear, and looks more like Cundell, but could be Oundell. I do not find a place with this name. Does anyone have any information about place name changes, or could help me figure out where this place is? Ancestor is William Payne of Birmingham, England.

I would be most appreciative of any help in finding the date of marriage for a John (Johannes) and Penelope Man, who had several children baptized in Great Giddings parish in the 1670's. I have access to a micdrofilm copy of the original parish register, but the quality is exceedingly bad and many names are unreadable. Also I believe that several years are missing. Thank you in advance for any assistance, advice, sympathy or words of encouragement.

Edward Taylor 'Jeweller' Huntingdon

I am searching for Edward Huntingdon born c1873 possibly in Lincolnshire. He owned a big jewellers shop in Huntingdon around the time of the Second World War. His father was William Norris Taylor born Market Rasen and his mother was Sarah nee Ashworth. The rest of the Family were in Bury St. Edmunds in 1891 and in Bedford in 1901. I have been unable to find any of them in the 1881 census. I found William, Sarah & their first child Alicia in Grimsby in the 1871 Census. Alicia does not appear with them on the 1891 or 1901 census and neither does Edward. Apparently there were 21 children but I have only confirmed 14 so far.

The family's names are:-
1901
Civil Parish: Kempston (Bedford)
Ecclesiastical parish: Kempston
Town: Kempston
County/Island: Bedfordshire

Albert Taylor 13 -c1888
Annie Taylor 34 - daughter in law married to son Frank
Arthur Taylor 12 - 1889
Eva Taylor 7- 1893
Florence Taylor 21 - 1878
Frank Taylor 27 - 1874
Frederick Taylor 11 - 1890
Gordon Taylor 9 - 1891 registeres as Douglas Gordon
Reginald Taylor 6 - 1894
Sara Taylor 50 1850 nee Ashworth born blackburn lancs
Stella Taylor 23 - 1877 ? reg Elizabeth
William Taylor 55 [Insurance Agent]born Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, England
William Taylor 15 - -1887

Also from 1891 census in Suffolk
Thomas born 1883
George born 1876

Most of the children were born in Lincolnshire but also a couple in Bury St Edmunds and two in Huntingdon. ? This could be why Edward ended up in huntingdon if they were living there when he found employment.

If any one could make a suggestion on where I go from here I would be very grateful.
Many thanks
Lynda

Does anyone have any info or connections? to Mary Goodes DOB abt 1844 and Samuel Goodes DOB abt 1847. Both born in Moulton, Lincolnshire, England to William Goodes and Tina (Ann) Lowin Larter. I have them on the 1851 census in England then on the 1860 census in New York. (they arrived around 1854) I then find the family in Flint, Michigan, but Mary and Samuel are gone. I haven't been able to find any death records or marriage records in New York or Michigan.

Any info or suggested direction would be appreciated.

Diana

**I have researched my William Goodes Sr. back to what I believe is his christening. 05 Dec 1817 Holbeach, Lincolnshire, England. I have also found his grave in Michigan and hope to get an exact date of birth. I believe his parents might be Samuel & Ann? Kind of lost how to track them down in England at this point.

My search has taken me to Bluntisham where William Watts, b. 1794, was granted funds from the parish to help him and his family come to America about 1830-1832. One of the officials who signed these parish records was "William Watts" who may have been the father. William (1794) and Susan Wooten (Wotton) are listed in the Huntingdonshire marriage records as married in 1817. Three of their children are listed in parish baptism records of Bluntisham cum Earith as found on microfilm at the FHL.
I am trying to establish the parents and siblings for William (1794) who is my gggg grandfather. Can anyone offer information or further search options for this family?
I'd be so grateful!
I'm looking into the death of my great grandfathers first wife,a EMILY LITTLECHILD and the information I have is that she was found dead on Spring Common around the 22nd August 1907. There was an inquest held, and she was only 34, so Im interested in seeing if anyone has news articles that might relate to it, or have any information that relates to it. It may just be tragic circumstances, but would be interested to know.

Many thanks

Ben Littlechild

Hart Family Somersham

I am currently researching the family surname "Hart", most of which seem to come from Somersham. I have got as far back as John HART, b. abt 1835-8, Somersham. From deduction on looking at the various census, i think that his father was Thomas Hart b. 1811 and mother Charlotte Hart b.1813. I can see these both on the 1841 census, living in a place called "Rotten Row", i tried to find them in the 1851 census but they seem to have completely vanished?!!! They reappear in the 1861 census in Rectory Lane. Are there normally any explanations as to why people do not show up in the census?!
if anyone has any more information on going further back than Thomas and Charlotte Hart it will be very much appreciated!

Thank you

They emigrated as free settlers from England to Tasmania, Australia in the early 1800s. I would be grateful for any information as how to go about finding out the English side of the family. The area is Warboys, Wistow and Pidley cum Fenton.
Thank you.

Hello everyone,

I'm researching the Goodes family who lived in Leighton Bromswold.

John Goodes (son of Mark) was born in Sawtry in 1809.

He married Amy Cooke in 1841. They lived in Leighton.

Their son Thomas married Sarah Bluff in 1871, and two of their children were Mark (married Bertha Gillet in 1900) and my Great Grandfather John William (who married Frances Gammons in 1916, Dewsbury).

Mark and Bertha were the parents of Violet M. Goodes (born 1915) and John and Frances were the parents of John Stanley Goodes (born 1919, Batley).

I have some more information, including other names/siblings etc.

If anyone has any connections, please get in touch!

Thank you,

Hazel

hazelgoodes@hotmail.co.uk
Looking for Ancestors of Ingram - Brampton, Huntingdonshire

I am trying to find any information about siblings of my GG Grandmother Martha Ingram. She was born in Abt 1855 in Brampton Huntingdonshire, her parents I have been told were Edward Ingram and Ann Myers (though this information may be incorrect).

She married George Flanders in October 1873, and had three children (Julia, Edward George and Alice Martha). In January 1881, the family immigrated to Queensland Australia, and moved to a small town called Laidley.

About 5 months after their arrival in Laidley, Martha was killed when a tree which was struck by lightning in a storm fell on her killing her instantly, she was only 25 when she died.

I am trying to find anybody who may have heard this story from their ancestors, or may be a decendant of any siblings that Martha may have had.
