i am currently reasearching the history of the school in the title of this message . it was situated just outside desford in leicestershire . it was opened in 1881 and closed its doors in 1984 . over the years its name was changed as you can see. as an ex - pupil of this school from the 60's i would also like to hear from antbody that went to or had family who went to this school . i also have information about where the school records are now kept. so if you can help it would be much appreciated . thank you.

I think my grandad may have been sent here if anyone can help with records? He was born in Stepney (DOB. around 05/05/1911)but was sent to a children's home in London with his brother. I know he was later sent to "a youth centre in Desford" but that's as much as I know. Also, he was always told he was called Richard so I don't know when his name got changed - he always went as Richard Jacob or Jacob Richard but his birth certificate says Frederick Jacob! I don't know when or why or even if this was the place he was sent to, but it's the only likely place I can find in/near Desford! If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.
