Two uncles of Elizabeth Craddock, William Craddock and Henry Cradock both had families in Fareham, Hampshire.

William married Elizabeth on 1846 at Alverstoke as Cradwick, and had 1 daughter named Elizabeth Mary Craddock (born February 6 182x) at Portsea, Hampshire. Elizabeth Mary Craddock married James Gulliver; i believe their decendants are found in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji.

Henry Cradock married Suzannah (no surname). They had six children all baptised at Portsea:
Albany (born 1809)
Arabella (born 1813)
Emily (born 1811)
John (born 1815?)
Sarah (born 1818)
Susan (born 1820)
All were married, or died as Cradock.

I have an Elizabeth Craddock, born 1833 possibly in Fareham, who died in Portsmouth 1901 as Elizabeth Cradwick. She recorded in 1851 census as a Cradwick and died as a Widow although was never married.

She had 2 children, the only details i have being:
1) Frederick Cradwick (born June 22 1868 at Portsea, died 1871 at Portsea).
2) Thomas Cradwick (born April 4 1856 at Portsmouth) who married Ellen Louise Pitman (died Jan 17 1922 aged 66 at Southsea/Portsmouth)

She is one of 4 children of Sarah Ford and Thomas Craddock (died in 1851 aged 61 at Fareham as Thomas Cradwick). Thomas is son of John Cradock and Susanah Batchelor (married February 10 1777).
Thomas was also married to Jane Nicholson (born 1791, died aged 84 in 1875 as Jane Cradwick) at Fareham, and had 1 child, Emmely Craddock (married George Matthews).
Thomas is a brother to Abraham Cradwick, William Craddock, and Henry Cradock.

She had a 2 sisters and 1 brother:
1) Louise Craddick (born May 22 1831, Fareham) who married Henry Thomas Burgess (26/9/1854?) at Alverstoke. There were chilhdren but no details.
2) Sarah Craddick (born january 3 1830 at Fareham). Also recorded as Cradwick on 1851 census. No details of children.
3) Abraham Craddock (born April 3 1921 at Fareham, died aged 73 February 26 1894 as John Cradwick at Wateringbury).
First married September 20 1841 (still known as Abraham) to Eliza Stewart (died aged 29 January 12 1849 at Fareham).
They had a child, Margaret Barclay Cradwick, although she died at 17 days old on May 7 1847.
The second marriage (known as John Cradwick, widower, at this time) was to Harriet Bates (born 1833 at Sandhurst, died aged 61 January 19 1893 at Wateringbury.
Between them they had 7 children 5 boys, 2 girls: 4 of which died within 2 years of birth)

Does this fit with anything you have ??

thank you for writting I am at work and do not have info with me.When I get home this evening I will look up dates etc.But for now,my grandfather Edward Goddard had told me he was from Melton Mowbray.I was much younger and never asked if that was where he was born. He also told me they were farmers,I assume his mother (elizabeth mary or mary elizabeth Bailey) and father William Goddard were the farmers. My granfather Edward left Melton Mowbray with his horse and the Army to go off to WW1 and he never returned to England and for whatever reasons ,I know of, he never heard from his family again..He did mention that he thought his brother went to London and worked as a policeman. Will send you abit more infio asap and thank you

Hi Greg,
Have just seen your query regarding the above (5 years after you posted it!). James Gulliver is in fact my great grandfather. His son Frederick Gulliver (who later changed his name to Gulliver-Cradwick) was my grandfather. His son, George Herbert Alan was my father.
Regards,
Rae Acherman,
Hamilton, N.Z.
