I am looking for information about the Shickell family of Gedney Dyke

Hi,
There is only one family of Shickell in Lincolnshire in 1841. They are
John Shickell aged 49 carpenter
Elizabeth Shickell aged 50
both not born in Peterborough.

Do you want them and others from the 1861 and 1891 Census?
You don't specify which years or people you need.

Sorry to have to correct, but they were living in Peterborough, Northants (not Lincs) in 1841.

They were still there in 1851

Elizabeth 61 Cambridgeshire, North Bank, Whittlesea
Elizabeth HODGES (visitor) 19 Peterborough

Way back (at the end of January)You replied to one of my posts about the Shickell family and offered help. I am not sure if I replied!

The information I have is:
Henry Shickell (Chelsea Pensioner) born in Peterborough 1795 married to Sarah Shickell (born 1811 in Ireland). They were living in Great Boughton Cheshire in 1861. They had three children:
William Henry Shickell born in Gedney Dyke Lincolnshire in 1843.
George Richard born in Ireland in 1850.
John born in Ireland 1852.

The family seemed to move between Lincolnshire and Ireland.

My closest relative is William Henry.

Henry's father is William Shickle 1773 born St Johns Peterborough, his mother is Susanna Holden born 1775.
He has a brother John 1792 and a sister Sarah born 1802 (my 4 x great grandmother).
would love to hear what other info you have on this family, i am trying to trace them back to their original country.

Did you know that Sarah also had an older sister Mary (born 1800)?

Mary was married to Daniel Afford and they had one child (Henry born 1831) when Mary died Daniel married Sarah. Henry married Elizabeth Balls.

Did Henry have an older brother John born 1792
when William Shickle and Susannna Holding
did not marry till march 1796 I had thought that
Henry was their first born in december 1796.
