I am trying to locate the obit for my great Aunt and Uncle
Florence A Carr died 26th August 1957 in Scunthorpe
Harry M Carr died 5th March 1952 in grimsby
Does any one have access to the old newspapers or know if they are on line ? I am unable to travel to the Lincolnshire area
Thanks very much

Karen

If you get the obit, it will probably only be a notice of death, in local newspaper. In other words, it will give the name, age, the date of death and probably say what the husband/wife's name was and may name children. It will then give details of the funeral. In England, it is not usual to have a 'write up' in the newspaper.

You can contact newspapers online, but none have online searching for archives. One of the papers may publish a letter for you, if you want to see if any locals will search the archives for you. OR, you may still have relatives inthe area.
