i am a year 2
Heritage Studies student in
Lincoln. one of my assignments is to research a WWI soldier. the soldier that i am researching is Arthur
Larkins. he was born in
Lincoln December 1889. he died 8th June 1917 in France. he died in action.
he was married to Florence "Florrie"
Knight. i don't have any information on her at all. they were married in 1915.
i have researched his father Frederick
Larkins but i have found that he was in the 1891 census as being married to Elizabeth (can't find her maiden name) and living with sons Albert, Walter, Herbert and Arthur
Larkins. they lived at 51 Gibbeson Street.
but in the 1901 census Frederick is listed as being married to Emily (maiden name possibly
Wenn). the children are listed as follows Walter, Herbert, Arthur, Lottie, Bertha and Nellie. Albert isn't on there as i suspect that with him being 19 at this point, he's possibly moved out of the family home. they were living at 416 High Street.
if anyone can help or give me any more inforamation, i would be ever so grateful.
kind regards
samantha hipwell.
