Hi
Yes this London/Middlesex thing does get confusing. The Tottenham Court Road address is in Middlesex rather than London - London is anywhere in the City of London within the walls (quite a small area really). Also places that are south of the River Thames that we think of as being in South London today were back then listed as Surrey! Confused??!!

I have found Daniel in Tottenham Court Road in 1841 where he states he was not born in Middlesex.
On the 1851 Census he & Sarah were at 2 North Street, Marylebone where he states place of birth as Hampshire.
On the IGI I have found:
Daniel Whitear bap. 2.5.1794 parents Thomas & Anne.
Other children:
Harrioth Whitear bap. 6.5.1799
Hannah Whitear bap 30.7.1790
All baptised at New Alresford, Hampshire

Hope it helps
Pam
