Humble apologies for not replying sooner - I hadn't realised it was so long since I checked the message boards.
Sorry your trip to Felton was in vain - I will call the church warden(s) and see if they can shed any more light on it. As far as I know the Fergusons weren't Roman Catholic - but I've had so many surprises while doing this tree that anything's possible!
