This is purely guess work, but it might give you a lead.
Looking at the 1891 census, John is married to Elizabeth, and they have a 3 year old child, Ethel, and then John, who is a 1 year old. Ethel was born in Alnwick.
Births Sep 1887
TAYLOR Ethel Alnwick 10b 391
They would have married shortly before the date of birth of the first child.
There is a marriage at
Belford Northumberland in 1885. IF The John
Taylor married Elizabeth
Ravell, this could be them. The 1891 census, gives the age of Elizabeth as being born in 1866 at Cowpen.
Marriages Sep 1885
HEATLEY
Isabella Maria F
Belford 10b 507
RAVELL Elizabeth
Belford 10b 507
Skelly Thomas
Belford 10b 507
Taylor John
Belford 10b 507
The 1881 census, does not show an Elizabeth
Ravell, but there is an Elizabeth Raffle, who is the right age, and who is living in Cowpen. SO this could be the correct Elizabeth.
John
Taylor is a fairly common name, but there is one John
Taylor, on the 1881 census, living in Lowick with his parents. He is described as a farmer's son, and his father is a farmer employing three men.
You really need the marriage certificate for John and Elizabeth to find out the names of their father's. To find Elizabeth's maiden name, you would need to get one of their children's birth certificates.
As I said at the outset, it is guess work, until you have some certificates to prove it. If you want any of the census returns, let me know.
