Does anyone have any information on Spraggons in Northumberlan, particularly the Nafferton and Bywell areas? I have quite a lot of info. but there are some missing links.

I only have a Mary Spraggon in my records. Sadly, the only thing that I know is she was married to James Craggs. I do not know where they are from, only that they are from England. Do you have a Mary Spraggon in your records. I'm sorry I am not of much help.

Carolyn, My GreatGrandmother was Elizabeth Ann Spraggon from Jarrow-on Tyne. Her father was Joseph Spraggon and her mother Margaret Chalder. Margaret's mother was Mary Bolam from Bywell. Mary's husband was Matthew Chalder. I would like any more information that you can give me.

sorry do not recogize the name Henry Liddle. He was most probably related to my Liddles/spraggons somehow though. there are spraggons in Australia, I don't know about Liddles. Norma

Robert Scott (2) the son of William Scott b. abt 1730 Alnwick, Northcumberland and married to Jane Mitchison b 1729 ......Eng - date of marriage 7.6.1755 Alnwick, Northcumberland. William Scott was the son of Robert Scott (1) b 1689 Alnwick, Nbl - m. 11.11.1721 Alnwick, Nbl to Barbara Craister b 1693.

My Gx2 Grandfather was Nathan Chalder Brother of Matthew Chalder who married Mary Bolam at Bywell-St-Peters 3/4/1837 I have lots of information regarding his family

Hi Carolyn, I have recently discovered the following SPRAGGONS in my family line: MARK SPRAGGON born Dec 1846 in SUNDERLAND he married CAROLINE MORGAN (my great aunt) on 23 Dec 1869 in St.Mary's, Swansea, Glam, Wales he was a Mariner his father was THOMAS HENRY SPRAGGON a Master Mariner. MARK and CAROLINE had three children that I know of DAVID born 1871, ESSIE MARGARET born 1873 and THOMES born 1878. Is this any help? if they fit in anywhere please let me know. Pat Peters W.Canada.
