Surnames: ATKINSON,GAIR,FEATONBY,WAKINSHAW,GILLENDER
My 2X great grandfather, Robert ATKINSON was living with his family in Elswick, Newcastle in the 1861 census. He was an engineer or fitter by trade all of his life. Was there an engineering works or locomotive works there in 1861? Thanks for any ideas anyone can give me. Donna
